Company News: AST’s Steven Sanchez Named Certified Bearing Specialist

March 15, 2019 by Christine Berlly

AST Bearings is thrilled to announce Steven Sanchez, P.E., has been named a Certified Bearing Specialist by the Bearing Specialist Association (BSA).

Steven is the second AST employee in the company’s Engineering Department to receive the certification, joining Jeff Fergus; Jeff received his BSA certification in 2017.

As the BSA notes on its website, “BSA’s Certified Bearing Specialist (CBS) program is the only bearing industry-specific program that identifies and quantifies the specific skill sets to certify an industry professional as a bearing specialist.” The certification process includes an extensive test and those who get certified must renew every five years.

“Congratulations to Steven for his hard work and commitment to ensuring our customers are getting the absolute best in bearing knowledge and value-added service,” said Dan Fox, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With Jeff and now Steven, we are so proud to have two Certified Bearing Specialists in our Engineering Department.”

At AST, our core philosophy is providing Value Beyond the Part to customers. That brand promise means that in addition to having a marketplace of high-quality bearing products, we ensure our customers have a partner working with them in choosing the correct bearing for their unique application.

This is made possible by our team of engineers and bearing specialists. Their extensive knowledge allows us to provide AST customers with a range of value-added services, including consulting and design engineering, applications engineering, failure analysis, lubrication/relubrication, quality inspection and more.

Have questions for Steven, Jeff and our team? They’re ready to work with you to find high-performance and cost-efficient solutions to your bearing needs. Contact them here.
