What Does ISO 9001:2008 Mean for Quality Management?

ISO_Logo-01-webAST Bearings enforces a rigorous quality control program to ensure that each bearing shipped conforms to the highest quality standard. One way that we guarantee our quality is through our ISO 9001:2008 certification.

ISO 9001:2008 certification represents affirmation by a third-party registrar that when purchasing AST products and services customers are assured of world-class quality and reliability. AST’s ISO audit was performed by Southfield, Michigan-based Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc., one of the world’s foremost authorities in quality certification.

Consistent with the latest ISO 9001:2008 standard, AST authenticates our customer satisfaction levels. We send standardized surveys to our customers to determine our performance in the following five key areas: Sales/Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Shipping Delivery, and Overall while soliciting feedback on outstanding performance and areas to improve upon.

AST’s ISO 9001:2008 certification also included their Design and Development processes. Most bearing suppliers don’t even have in-house bearing design and engineering services, much less have them certified. Whether trouble-shooting an existing problem or helping to creating new product specs, customers of AST should have greater peace of mind knowing that their processes have been scrutinized and passed inspection by the renowned auditing firm of Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc.

If you have any questions about quality management and AST’s ISO 9001:2008 certification, our tribology specialists and mechanical/quality engineers are available to standing-by to assist you: contact us today.
