Steel Outer with Copper Alloy Inner Series SPB
A Steel-on-Copper alloy Spherical
Plain Bearing is one type of a maintenance-free SPB (others include Steel-on-PTFE
materials and steel on bronze).
The load ratings for Steel-on-Copper alloy are somewhere between Steel-on-Bronze
and Steel-on-PTFE plastic. From a
construction standpoint, AST’s Steel-on-Copper alloy spherical plain bearings
are broken down into two
XF/Q Series – Axially Split Outer Rings
Outer ring of carbon chromium steel, axially split twice, held together by retaining ring, hardened and phosphated, sliding surface treated with hard chromium plating. Inner ring of copper alloy and sliding surface inserted with solid lubricant.
- GE-XF/Q Series – Chrome Steel outer ring, axially split twice with Inner Ring of Copper Alloy, 100~300 mm bore
- GEC-XF/Q Series – Chrome Steel outer ring, axially split twice with Inner Ring of Copper Alloy, 32 0~460 mm bore
- GEH-XF/Q Series – High Capacity, Chrome Steel outer ring, axially split twice with Inner Ring of Copper Alloy, 100~420 mm bore
HF/Q Series– Radially Split Outer Rings (heavy duty large bore)
Outer ring of carbon steel, phosphated, radially split twice, held together by screws, sliding surface treated with hard chromium plating. Inner ring of copper alloy and sliding surface inserted with solid lubricant.
- GEH-HF/Q Series – High Capacity, Carbon Steel outer ring, radially split twice with Inner Ring of Copper Alloy, 440~800 mm bore
