AST Bearings LLC headquartered in Montville, NJ, a leading nationwide distributor of high precision bearings and bearing related products is presently seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer for our Montville, New Jersey Operations.

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities: Provide bearing expertise to answer customer technical questions and create solutions for existing and new applications. Directly interface with customers to clarify the technical requirements of their applications Recommend appropriate designs with supporting bearing calculations Conduct failure and post service analysis of field return bearings

Qualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are a must. 5 years work experience in the bearing industry; experience in an ISO-9000 environment is a plus Proficiency in MS Office required. Proficiency in Solid Works, or other CAD experience is a plus.

Essential Functions: Work with inside and outside sales to provide a high level of customer service on all technical and design issues, bearing applications engineering, and overall technical support. Review and approve product specifications and drawings. Assist in costing and preparation of customer quotations. Work with manufacturing and vendors on technical and design issues Prepare technical bulletins and provide training to inside sales staff. Support new product initiatives and participate in web based marketing program. Other duties as required.
